How it started, how it’s going, and everything in between
I grew up on horses, so it only seemed natural for me to ride horses as a career right?! Well…maybe.
I spent ten years working for hospice until I decided to dedicate my energy full time towards horses. I enjoy the ground aspect and liberty work, but I grew to love the sport of timed events first.
I’ve been thankful enough to be aboard self-trained, record-breaking horses and finding success in the barrel pen and timed events arena. Most of my clients are general horsemanship-based and finishing touches. I wholeheartedly believe in trust above all methods.
Though I have mentored under some of the best I know in the world, I would prefer to stay small and efficient. I enjoy traveling, social gatherings, trail riding and camping as a means to unwind after the day is done.
I always had the desire to accomplish. I took interest in things others failed at or had difficulty. My lowest point came when I realized good things don’t last forever. Bad advice on great horses made me see that horses only have so many hoof prints in the sand.
When I realized this, I became more proactive mentally and emotionally to horses’ overall well-being. Like with horses, everything takes time.
Other random fun facts about me
I’m a social bird, I love going places: dinners, traveling, the coast, the mountains, trail riding, and doing all I can to live. I really enjoy thinking with my own horses and sharing all I’ve thought about with my husband, Cody and son, Carson. My friends say I’m very much a ring leader and a confident soul.
And then there’s my sense of humor. I’m quick and witty.
I’ve also dabbled in a variety of horse disciplines such as jumping, dressage, reining, roping, barrels and timed events, trails, extreme cowboy races, mountain trail championships, showmanship, driving, colt starting, and of course liberty.
